Richmond’s Prince of Wales Inn is the oldest inhabited rammed earth building in Australia, built in the 1820's as an Inn and used as a public house until convict James McGowan added the Georgian home around the 1850's.
Utilised as a guest house until the turn of the 20th Century, it then became the residence for the Cooley family, being the birthplace of Mrs Alma Currie (nee Cooley) who resided in the home for some 80 years.
A major restoration took place in the early 1990's and Mrs Currie's House was reborn as a 4 star traditionally hosted Bed & Breakfast.
